Woo Publication II

WOO is Emily Carr University’s student publication; it showcases student work from all disciplines, including art, design, creative writing, media, illustration, animation and more. Woo is a fantastic project because it allows students to experiment and learn how to work with a team of fellow students to compose a publication from scratch. During my time at Woo, I was Creative Director and Lead designer. I was accountable for administrative duties, managing schedules, budgets, pre-press file production and overseeing submissions, and I worked alongside the Art Director to create strong and unique concepts, visuals and layouts.

For the 2016 school year, we found inspiration in movement, colour and textures. The Fall issue was inspired by optical illusions and movement. The Winter issue played with colourful and bright gradients. And, the Spring issue had beautiful pastel colours that together with very expressive brushstrokes created a very elegant and editorial look.

"Daniela and I have been colleagues at Woo publication where she led the production and design direction efforts. Daniela is very motivated and inspiring designer who values collaboration and creativity. While she has full of out of the box ideas, she loves the process of team-working and engaging everyone in the team. She is very humble, hardworking and open-minded.
